Led by Casey Reagan, Alchemy's ceramic studio manager, this two-day class will delve into the art of hand-building techniques, focusing on texture and treatment using a variety of metal oxides. 

On the first day, participants will have the opportunity to utilize the slab roller to introduce unique textural elements and botanical imprints to their envisioned vessel. After a week and the initial firing, attendees will learn how to enhance the intricate details of their textured pieces using a range of iron oxides, carbonates, and underglazes. 

This class is suitable for both beginners and experienced potters who wish to expand their knowledge in hand-building and gain insights into the distinct qualities of different oxide and carbonate mixtures. 

Located in the clay studio of the main art building on the AAC campus in Friday Harbor, this event promises a rich and immersive experience. Further details, including directions and parking information, will be provided in your confirmation email upon registration.
