Join the TASTE: A poetry workshop in Oxford at The Community Works on February 4th, 2024. Organized by Oxford Poetry Library (OPL) in collaboration with The Oxford Hub, this workshop aims to tantalize your tastebuds and inspire you to create poetry entries for our upcoming competition centered around the theme of taste. This OPL poetry competition, in association with the Oxford Hub, provides an opportunity for both new and experienced poets to share their unique voices. It builds upon the success of OPL's monthly open mic sessions, workshops, and events, extending a warm welcome to poets within and beyond the city limits. Our goal is to bring together a diverse community of passionate poets, shedding light on talented individuals who may not have received the recognition they deserve. For poetry enthusiasts who prefer to listen and read, there will be an array of captivating new works on the sensory theme of taste. Join us for a guided poetry workshop led by Maya Little, an OPL volunteer and former host of our popular Getting Started with Poetry workshop series. This free workshop will take place from 6.00pm to 7.30pm, offering mouthwatering writing exercises to stimulate your poetic senses and help you transform your food fantasies into captivating verses. While there is no obligation to enter the competition, participants who wish to do so can find further details and entry requirements on the event page. Don't miss this opportunity to explore the realms of taste through the art of poetry.
