The workshop is designed for practitioners interested in developing their early years creative practice, whether you're a community artist, therapeutic artist, theatre practitioner, or an educator with an interest in movement-based practices. Led by Takeshi Matsumoto, a Japanese dance artist and dance movement psychotherapist, this workshop will guide you through a diverse range of creative activities that integrate elements of movement, sound, drawing, and language.

Throughout the workshop, you will explore the power of the body, dance, and movement as fundamental tools when working with and for children. Each day will begin with a gentle warm-up inspired by contemporary dance, yoga, and somatic practices. Day one will focus on the moving body as a canvas for reflection and discovery, incorporating improvisation, drawing, and discussion. Day two will encourage playful interactions with peers and groups, building upon the exploration of the moving body. Finally, day three will delve into the materiality and embodiment of paper, inspiring you to create performances for young audiences.
