Gallery 1855 hosts the monthly Stitch & Yarn group, offering a unique opportunity to combine photography and embroidery. Led by community artist Michelle Jahn, participants can breathe new life into personal photos through various embroidery techniques. The group meets on the following dates in 2024: June 15, July 13, August 17, September 14, and October 19, from 1-4pm. The culmination of the group's creative journey will be an exhibition at Gallery 1855 in 2025. Participation is free, and attendees have the option to showcase their work in the exhibition. No prior experience is necessary, and all materials are provided, including op shop threads and yarns. Michelle, an experienced textile artist, guides participants in exploring their creative potential through play and experimentation.
