Gallery 1855 hosts the monthly Stitch & Yarn group, where participants can engage in the art of photo-embroidery. Led by community and textile artist Michelle Jahn, attendees will have the opportunity to learn various embroidery techniques while stitching on personally meaningful photographs. The Stitch & Yarn gatherings, taking place on 13 July, 17 August, 14 September, and 19 October 2024 from 1-4pm, are geared towards fostering creativity and camaraderie among individuals aged 16 and above. The culmination of these sessions will be an exhibition in 2025 at Gallery 1855, showcasing the embroidered artworks created during the group meetings. Participation in both the group and the exhibition is complimentary, with optional involvement in the exhibition. Michelle Jahn, known for her expertise in fabric design, aims to inspire participants to explore their creative potential through play and experimentation.
