StartOut SF's Storytellers Night: Leap of Faith
The entrepreneurial world is full of leaps—quitting a stable job to start something new, pitching an idea that might not work, or risking failure in pursuit of something greater. But beyond entrepreneurship, we all have stories of taking leaps of faith—moments when we stepped into the unknown, faced uncertainty, or bet on ourselves.
This evening is about sharing those extraordinary stories!
Taking a 
leap of faith
 isn’t always easy. Sometimes, it’s exhilarating. Other times, it’s terrifying. But, no matter the outcome, these moments shape who we are. Have you ever stood at the edge of something uncertain and taken the plunge? Did it go the way you expected—or did life throw you in a completely different direction?
We invite you to share.
What to Expect
Curated Speakers:
 We will feature
 pre-selected speakers
, each sharing a personal story in a 
10 minute slot
 about a leap they’ve taken.
Open Mic:
 In addition to scheduled speakers, we’ll open the floor for audience members to share their own experiences.
Support & Preparation:
 Selected speakers will be confirmed 
at least two weeks in advance
 and will have 
at least one 30-minute prep session
 with the StartOut Storytellers team. Additional prep sessions are available if needed.
Whether your leap of faith was about launching a business, making a bold career move, embracing your identity, or taking a personal risk, we’d love for you to share. Join us for an evening of powerful storytelling, vulnerability, and connection.
Renée Rosillo
Renee is a trans woman and the cofounder of AO Labs, building AI that learns like humans do, with less data through real-time reinforcement learning. She started her career working at the UN. Technologist, exited multi-time founder. She cofounded Prism and FounderFamilia. Originally from Mexico City.
Haley Everheart
Haley Everheart (she/they) is the Vice President of Marketing at FOLX Health, where she leads marketing, research, and community to drive growth and expand access to affirming healthcare for the LGBTQIA+ community. Throughout her career, she has advanced social change through impactful storytelling and engagement strategies, working with organizations like Planned Parenthood, Lesbians Who Tech, the Global Fund for Women, and Black Voters Matter, and earning features in outlets like Teen Vogue, CNN, Democracy Now!, and Fast Company.
Skye King
Skye is a social entrepreneur dedicated to empowering leaders and organizations through the power of emotional intelligence and technology. As an SVP of Social Impact at Ogilvy, she helps organizations amplify their impact through strategic communications, brand building, and stakeholder engagement with a focus on health, technology, and environmental sustainability. She is also the founder of Geode Lifeworks, a wellness company that delivers anti-burnout, emotional intelligence, and AI-upskilling programs. A frequent speaker and artist, Skye's work is informed by her background in behavior science and her experience in cultural diplomacy and community-building.

Alcatraz Island is a stone island in San Francisco Bay, close to the Golden Gate, facing the old town of San Francisco, the scenery around the island is very beautiful. Because the water around the island is very deep and the water flow is very fast, the island used to be a prison. The island, which held the most famous and dangerous prisoners in the United States in the last century, became famous, and Hollywood made movies, and now it is a San Francisco Bay attraction.

Golden Gate Park

This is a relatively large park near the Golden Gate Bridge, called Golden Gate Park. Most tourists will not go to this attraction specifically, but since we are traveling independently, we can visit it in a more relaxed manner. The environment design of this park is unparalleled and it is worth checking out.

Came on September 24, 2017. This attraction is unique, beautiful and interesting, and definitely one of the must-see attractions to visit San Francisco. Jiuqu Flower Street is actually a section of Lombard Street, located between Hyde Street and Leavenworth Street. This section is a steep slope, but it is designed to be eight hairpin bends, and the road is full of flowers. If you need to shoot the effect of Jiuqu, you must stand at the low position of Leavenworth Street. Chinese people can drive by themselves in the western United States where San Francisco is located. If you will drive in San Francisco, you may wish to experience the feeling of driving through Jiuquhua Street.
