The Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Sports Partnership is organizing a Sports First Aid Course for sports clubs in Dublin. This course aims to ensure a safe environment for participants engaging in sports activities. Scheduled for Saturday, October 19th, 2024, the full-day course will take place at the prestigious Royal Marine Hotel, located on Marine Road in Dublin. Starting at 9 am and concluding at 4 pm, participants will undergo comprehensive training in emergency response. By the end of the course, attendees will receive certification in first aid and emergency response, enabling them to administer immediate care while waiting for professional medical assistance.

Sports First Aid is an indispensable skill, especially when dealing with physical activities. The course will cover a range of topics, including accident scene management, patient assessment, respiratory emergencies, wounds and bleeding, head injuries and unconsciousness, fractures and bone injuries, burns, scalds, and electric shocks.

To ensure a smooth experience, participants should arrive at 8:50 am. During the mid-morning break, tea, coffee, and biscuits will be provided. However, attendees are requested to bring their own packed lunch. Alternatively, they can make use of the hotel's dining facilities or explore the local eateries available in the vicinity of Dun Laoghaire.
