Special Event - Battle Day (Open to all) will take place at Chepstow Leisure Centre on May 25, 2024. Participants must be members of a HEMA club in good standing with valid insurance. The event will focus on 16th-century battle techniques through a mix of unit training and melee games. Attendees can engage in both training sessions and games, or solely focus on training activities. The training will involve drills and sparring exercises with late renaissance battlefield weapons like sword & shield, and polearms. Emphasis will be placed on the coordinated use of weapons in formation rather than individual combat. Participants will have the opportunity to practice with different weapons before putting their skills to the test on a simulated battlefield. This event offers a unique environment to evaluate and refine your weapon-handling abilities. Admission to the event is priced at £10, welcoming all HEMA club members prepared for an exciting and educational experience in historical European martial arts.
