Join experienced artist and printmaker Susan Baran in the Solar Plate Printmaking Workshop at Newcastle Printmakers Workshop in Adamstown. This weekend workshop, taking place on January 20th and 21st, 2024, will teach participants the art of creating and printing photo polymer plates. The workshop will cover the process of exposing Solarplates, including the correct exposure times, as well as various printing techniques to produce beautiful handmade prints. Students will have the opportunity to explore using both photographic images and hand-drawn and painted imagery. The workshop requires a minimum of 5 participants to proceed, so bookings are essential. The cost is $270 for non-members and $250 for current NPW members, with an additional materials fee of $40 to be paid directly to the tutor on the first day. Participants are advised to wear old clothes or an apron, closed-in shoes, and disposable gloves for safety. Refreshments, snacks, and lunch should be brought from home. COVID-19 safety measures will be in place, including sanitization, handwashing, and physical distancing.
