A new look at objects: learn the basics of both sketching and watercolors to enhance your paintings. Every realistic painting benefits from laying down a solid sketch. Explore how to map out a composition, break down objects through drawing, and plan how to paint a full scene. Learn how to paint to depict light and depth. First day (August 21): Focus on how to sketch objects and play with the basic watercolor techniques. Second day (August 28): In-depth tutorials on painting objects and composing a scene, resulting in a final painting. About the instructor: Audrey Parker is an art teacher who loves to teach paper craft and painting. Her artistic practice revolves around creating realistic paper flowers, as well as watercolor paintings with elements of paper sculpture, focusing primarily on nature and our connection to it. She graduated from MECA in 2021 with a Masters in Art Education, and in 2019 with a B.F.A. in Painting and a minor in Art History. Growing up in rural Maine, Audrey has a deep connection to the natural landscape around us.
