The sessions include two body art painting workshops. Feel free to carry your art inspiration with you. About the first body art painting workshop - 26th October 2024, 4pm-7pm There is no standard form for defining beauty though it’s a perspective that has been described both by scholars and the public. In its stand-alone, it’s what you perceive as appealing to your eyes. It shifts from one person to the other. What I see as beautiful will be perceived as less appealing to someone else. Defining those lines regarding self-acceptance and embracing the things we can see and have and how we are, changes our view on how we live every day. We train young individuals to embrace themselves often we forget to train ourselves at an older age to still look in the mirror and appreciate the person we see. So would it be different today if I spoke to my older self that, “actually I didn’t even notice that she had ripped trousers at the party”. Draw attention to things that build your confidence as you manoeuvre through daily bustles. One day we are great the next day we are not but somehow, we end up facing each day with grace and beauty. COME WITH A PLUS 1 About the second body art painting workshop - 17th November 2024, 4pm-7pm “I dey fine” simple right, easy to say I am Fine. We never go beyond that and be vulnerable enough to say, today I am not okay, or today I had a tough day. We silence those words so we don’t have to explain further than, “I dey fine”. Most times it is easier to hide, long run, it all comes at once and we are left with a thousand pieces to pick up, so how about we add something else to “how you dey,” or “I dey fine”? “Omo” today I faced my fears and called my Mum after so long, today I Told her how she is acting is not working out, today I need some help, today I Hoped on the train for the first time”. The simple words of speaking up, changes how we will respond to our challenges and trying to wire our minds to be at peace when things aren’t working out, or to celebrate the small wins as we go. “I dey Fine” am grateful for life today.” each day with grace and beauty.
