International Polar Bear Day is an annual event celebrated on February 27, coinciding with the period when polar bear mothers and cubs are in hibernation. This event aims to raise awareness about the conservation status of polar bears. To honor these incredible animals, the first Save the Polar Bears virtual race is organized. Participants have the opportunity to complete various distances, including 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, 13.1 miles, or 26.2 miles, by running or walking. By participating in this race, you will not only challenge yourself but also contribute to a great cause. A generous 15% of the registration fee will be donated to Polar Bears International, an organization dedicated to conserving polar bears and their habitat. Their mission is to inspire people to care about the Arctic and its fragile ecosystem, as well as the connection to our global climate. Upon registration, you will receive a medal and a bib, which will be mailed to you. The race can be completed anytime between January 1 and February 29, 2024. Medals will start shipping out in mid-December, and if you sign up later, they will be shipped within 2 to 5 days. This virtual race allows you to choose your own location and pace, making it a convenient and flexible option. Join the Save the Polar Bear virtual race and make a difference in the conservation of these magnificent creatures. Let's all contribute to their protection, one race at a time.
