Join the Salsa Turns Crash Course at Henke on Thursday, February 22nd, in Houston. This exciting event will take place at the Henke & Pillot venue, located at 809 Congress Street. The course is designed to take your salsa skills to the next level, focusing on easy and fun social turns and combos to spice up your dancing. Please note that this is not a class for absolute beginners, as basic steps and foundations will not be taught. This course is a continuation from level 101, perfect for those with dance experience looking to learn more social salsa turns and techniques beyond the basics. The course schedule includes salsa essentials review, footwork, and warm-up at 7PM, followed by outside and inside turn variations and open break moves at 8PM. At 9PM, participants will learn hammerlocks, walk arounds, walk backs, styling, and combos with flow. The course will conclude with a bonus session of social dancing and practice until 11:00 PM. To save your spot, RSVP/register early and pay online. Early registration is $25 for ladies, $30 for gentlemen, and $45 for couples, if paid in advance by Wednesday at midnight. Late registration on Thursday is $35 per person or $60 per couple at the door. Cash, Venmo, CashApp, and Zelle are accepted as payment methods. Attendees are advised to wear casual or gym attire, with low heels or flats recommended. Leather soles are preferred, while rubber soles and sandals should be avoided. The event is open to ages 18+ for dancing and 21+ for drinking. Free street parking is available around Market Square Park, but please be sure to read parking signs and avoid parking in commercial and emergency red zones. Remember to keep your valuables with you or place them in your trunk out of plain view.
