Rainbow Families Gallery Takeover is an exciting and engaging workshop tailored for LGBTQ+ families with children aged 0-10. As part of the DMU Pride 2024 celebration, this event will be held at Leicester Gallery, located at the Vijay Patel Building in Leicester. Open Play, a renowned facilitator, will guide the workshop, providing a creative and playful environment for children and their grown-ups to explore contemporary art. In addition to the artistic exploration, participants will have the opportunity to connect with other LGBTQ+ families in a relaxed and friendly setting, fostering a sense of community and support.

This inclusive event is open to all LGBTQ+ families, friends, and allies, free of charge. The activities are specifically designed for children aged 0-10, but older siblings are welcome to join in the fun as well. As an added bonus, Rainbow Families Gallery Takeover will feature a Children's Clothes Swap. This initiative encourages families to share clothes and memories, while also promoting sustainable practices and saving money by avoiding the purchase of brand-new items. Participants can take what they like or need and then contribute something when their child outgrows it in the future.
