Questward Bound Presents: 10 Candles at the Tartan Inn, an immersive tabletop role-playing game (RPG), will be held at the Tartan Inn in West Peoria on October 7, 2023. This unique and gripping game, designed by Stephen Dewey and published by Cavalry Games, combines elements of horror, survival, and narrative-driven gameplay.

Set in a desolate world plunged into eternal darkness, 10 Candles challenges players to survive the apocalypse. Each player creates a character with unique traits and aspects that define their personality. The game revolves around ten actual candles, representing the only source of light, which gradually go out as time passes, creating tension and urgency.

During gameplay, players describe their actions while the Game Master (GM) determines outcomes based on the narrative and character traits. Players can choose to burn their character's aspects to succeed at critical moments, although this brings them closer to their character's demise.

Collaborative storytelling is at the heart of 10 Candles. Players work together to overcome challenges and horrors, crafting a memorable and emotional narrative. The goal is not to "win" but rather to tell a compelling story about the characters' struggles and inevitable fate.

The game reaches its climax when all ten candles have been extinguished, or when all characters meet their tragic ends. These final moments often lead to dramatic and emotional resolutions.
