Marleen - Jop Leuven De Ontmoeting is een talentontwikkelingstraject voor nieuwe filmmakers. Middels een serie films van maximaal zes minuten, geeft het makers de kans hun ideeën verder uit te werken. Door de filmmakers in contact te brengen met gevestigde partijen uit de industrie, biedt dit traject ze de mogelijkheid hun netwerk te vergroten en hun voordeel te doen met de ervaring van deze partijen. AWARE is een samenwerking tussen Smarthouse en De Ontmoeting en gaat ‘bottom up’ op zoek naar ondervertegenwoordigde makers. Binnen dit talentontwikkelingstraject worden jaarlijks twee films gemaakt. Dit zijn projecten waarmee de deelnemers hun portfolio kunnen opbouwen en die als proof of concept voor een volgend project of iets groters kunnen dienen.
