About the event The Department of Classics, Ancient History, Archaeology and Egyptology together with Creative Manchester will be hosting a new photographic exhibition in the Samuel Alexander Corridor from February 19th 2025. The exhibition, titled “Portraits of el-Hosayneya”, is curated by Dr Hamada Hussein (Sadat City University) and Dr Diana T. Nikolova (Garstang Museum of Archaeology). It features portraits taken during the University of Manchester archaeological excavations in the Egyptian town of el-Hosayneya in the summer of 2024. Rather than showcasing the archaeological discoveries made in the town, the exhibition focuses on the local Egyptians whose help and generosity made the excavations possible, as well as those professional Egyptian excavators from Quft and Luxor who supervised the archaeological work. The launch of the exhibition will be marked with a reception at 4pm on February 19th, 2025 for all interested staff and students. The reception will feature short introductions by Professor Noha Azmy (Dean of Faculty, Sadat City University) as well as the exhibition curators. Following the reception, there will be a preview of the exhibition. وجوه من الحسينية....معرض فوتوغرافي يُفتتح في 19 فبراير 2025 يستضيف قسم الدراسات الكلاسيكية والتاريخ القديم وعلم الآثار والمصريات بالتعاون مع كرييتيڤ مانشيتسر معرضاً جديداَ للصور الفوتوغرافية بمبنى صامويل أليكسندر بالجامعة وذلك ابتداءاً من الأربعاء 19 فبراير 2025. يحمل هذا المعرض اسم  وجوه من الحسينية  وينظمه د.حمادة حسين (جامعة مدينة السادات، مصر) ود.ديانا ت. نيكولوڤا (متحف جارستانج، ليڤربول، المملكة المتحدة) ويعرض صوراً فوتوغرافية تم التقاطها خلال موسم الحفائر الذي أجرته جامعة مانشيستر بمدينة الحسينية بمحافظة الشرقية في مصر وذلك خلال صيف 2024. بدلاً من التركيز على الإكتشافات الأثرية التي تم تحقيقها بالمدينة، يُسلط المعرض الضوء على العمال المحليين الذين عملوا جاهدين وبكل دقة من أجل نجاح موسم الحفائر وتحقيق الإكتشافات، بالإضافة إلى الآثاريين المصريين ذوي الخبرة الطويلة من قفط والأقصر الذين أشرفوا على سير العمل بالموقع. يُفتتح المعرض بحفل استقبال في تمام الساعة الرابعة عصر يوم الأربعاء الموافق 19 فبراير 2025 لكل أعضاء هيئة التدريس والطلاب المهتمين بالمعرض وسيشتمل الحفل على كلمة تقديمية قصيرة من أ.د. نهى عزمي عميد كلية السياحة والفنادق – جامعة مدينة السادات وكذلك كلمة لمنظمي المعرض ويلي حفل الاستقبال جولة استعراض أولي للمعرض. The Bridge of Sighs (Oxford University, UK) is officially called Hertford Bridge. It is a famous attraction at Oxford University. The construction of the Bridge of Sighs began in 1913 (completed in 1914). It crosses New College Road and connects the old and new parts of Hertford College. It is a famous attraction at Oxford University. It was designed by Sir Thomas Jackson. Because the bridge is similar to the Bridge of Sighs in Venice, Italy, it is called the Bridge of Sighs. I came to Oxford University with a tour group and could only take a quick look.

The Bodleian Library - University of Oxford is the main library of the University of Oxford. It is one of the oldest libraries in Europe (opened in 1602) and the second largest in the UK after the British Library. library. This is one of the 6 statutory libraries in the UK. All Oxford publications will be automatically sent to this collection upon publication. There are many branches under the library, among which the Radcliffe Camera branch has become an important landmark of Oxford University. Many books are stored here, and non-Oxford University students can also visit it. Bodori Library is composed of a group of buildings of different historical periods and styles. It is said that there are underground passages connecting each building.
