What makes for a delightful picnic? Food and drink? Poetry? Music? A new installation offers a window into the pleasures, pastimes, and artistic heritage of Iran during the Safavid dynasty (1501-1736). A royal picnic, depicted on a large, treasured tile arch from the collections, is complemented by exceptional objects from the period.
Gracing the Osler Gate on Level 1, a colourful tiled archway made over 350 years ago in Isfahan, Iran takes centre stage, showing picnic-goers out for an afternoon of leisure and luxury. Individual tiles reveal immaculately dressed figures relaxing, enjoying delicious food and drink, and being entertained with music, poetry, and feats of archery. Lively and cheerful, the scenes on the arch offer a wonderful glimpse into the cultural vibrancy of Iran when it was ruled by the Safavids, a Shi'a Muslim dynasty, who were great patrons of the arts and architecture, and who fostered international trade and diplomacy from Isfahan, their newly built capital city.
The tile arch provides a magnificent focal point for the installation, which also showcases several stunning objects from the same period. A gorgeous lute with exquisite inlays and detail, an ornately decorated bow and arrow, a delicate swan-neck bottle, and beautifully crafted dishes - one of which carries words by medieval scholar Omar Khayyam (1048-1131) beginning with the lines: "This dish, which the intellect applauds, and on whose forehead it places a hundred kisses!" - bring the action on the tile arch to life. This beautiful collection of objects not only complements the arch scenes, but showcases the stunning artistry and intricacies of artisanal work iconic to the Safavid dynastic period.
One has only to take in the physical objects to be transported to the scenes in the arch, enjoying music, poetry, food, and entertainment.

The CN Tower, also known as the Canadian National Tower or the CN Tower, is located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In 1995, it was recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of the World by the American Society of Civil Engineers and is a member of the World Federation of Great Towers.

It&#39;s definitely worth a visit! The scenery is amazing, immersive, and breathtaking! There are often rainbows 🌈, which are really photogenic! There&#39;s also a fireworks and light show at night! It&#39;s beautiful! The US and Canada firework displays face each other, so dazzling! It&#39;s definitely worth a visit! The surrounding Clifton Hill is similar to Universal Studios, with lots of attractions and activities, perfect for kids!

The moment you step into Casa Loma, you&#39;re transported back to the days of the aristocracy of the early 20th century. Climbing the spiral staircase to the tower is a bit leg-wrenching, but it&#39;s well worth it&mdash;the rooftop view offers breathtaking views of the Toronto skyline. The underground wine cellars and secret passageways are truly adventurous, and I can&#39;t help but imagine the banquets the owners once hosted there. However, some of the furniture in the rooms looks a bit worn, and the signage is a bit blurry. My favorite part is the garden, where the roses are in full bloom in the summer, and it&#39;s so relaxing to sit on a bench and just relax. If you enjoy historical architecture and photography, this is a great place to take photos!

St. Lawrence Market

The moment I stepped into St. Lawrence Market, I was immediately greeted by a riot of aromas&mdash;the charred aroma of freshly baked bread, the savory aroma of seafood stalls, and the tangy sweetness of honey stalls! I waited in line for ten minutes at the Peameal Bacon stall, and it lived up to its reputation: the crispy, tender Canadian bacon sandwich was bursting with juice. In the antique section on the second floor, I found a vintage maple leaf brooch, and the owner enthusiastically explained its origins. The oyster stall is open and ready to eat, and a squeeze of lemon juice down your throat is simply breathtakingly delicious! Even on weekends, the crowds are so intense that I nearly knocked over the shelves while trying the cheese stall. The vibrant atmosphere of the city is so vibrant here that it&#39;s best to come hungry.
