Prince Kung&#39;s Palace (恭王府) is the only well-preserved princely mansion of Qing dynasty (清代) in China open to the public. The palace used to be the residence of Minister Heshen (和珅) from 1780 to1799 in the reign of Emperor Qianlong (乾隆皇帝). Emperor Jiaging (嘉庆皇帝) granted the mansion to Prince Qing Yonglin (庆郡王永璘) in 1799. In 1850, it was granted by Emperor Xianfeng (咸丰皇帝) to Prince Kung Yixin (恭亲王奕訢). The mansion has been called Prince Kung&#39;s Palace since then.This is a place worthy of visit to learn about the extravagance of Minister Heshen (和珅) and history of Qing (清) dynasty.
