From a young age, Peter's passion for ballet shines through, leading him to the prestigious New York City Ballet. Living in Manhattan on his own, he discovers both the joys and challenges of pursuing his dreams.

Peter's story is filled with laughter, but also with moments of raw honesty and vulnerability. He shares insights into the unique path of an artist, shaped by his environment, circumstances, and family. Through his memoir, we gain a deeper understanding of the inner world of a dancer and the sacrifices and triumphs that come with it.

Peter Boal, raised in Bedford, New York, began studying ballet at the School of American Ballet at the age of nine. He went on to become a member of the New York City Ballet's corps de ballet and later a principal dancer. After a successful 22-year career with the company, Peter founded the critically acclaimed chamber ensemble, Peter Boal and Company. Currently, he serves as the Artistic Director of the Pacific Northwest Ballet.
