Leo Meier, a newspaper editor from Berlin, grapples with guilt over his involvement in perpetuating the Reich's hateful message, straining his relationship with his impressionable daughter. Meanwhile, Maestro Covali, a Romani violin virtuoso, seeks to rebuild his life after the tragic loss of his wife and children. Catholic siblings Katherine and Joseph Worcheka embark on a journey of forgiveness as they embrace a new life free from tradition. Willie Jenkins fights valiantly to challenge society's perception of the downtrodden.
