Pat will be joined in conversation by writers Steven Keller, John Oakes, and Joe Hagan. After the discussion and audience Q&A, Pat will also sign copies of Evergreen Review. Pat Thomas is the author of Listen, Whitey! The Sights & Sounds of Black Power 1965-1975, Did It! Jerry Rubin: An American Revolutionary, and co-editor of Invitation to Openness: The Jazz & Soul Photography of Les McCann 1960-1980. In co-operation with the Estate of Allen Ginsberg, Thomas edited the visual tome Material Wealth: The Personal Archives of Allen Ginsberg, with a forward by poet Anne Waldman, which won a PEN award in 2024. Thomas was the co-editor of Ernie in Kovacsland: Drawings, and Photographs from Television's Original Genius and Grievous Angels, Trout Masks, and American Beauties: 1970s Rock & Roll Photography of Ginny Winn with an introduction by Maria Muldaur. He lives on America’s left coast.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is a stunning art hall with a rich collection of art to linger. Whether it is ancient Egyptian statues, European Renaissance paintings, or Asian calligraphy and porcelain, each hall is like a window to different civilizations. Standing in the Egyptian Pavilion and watching the fully restored Danyu Temple is enough to marvel at the exquisiteness of ancient craftsmanship. In the European Painting Pavilion, Van Gogh&#39;s &quot;Rye and Cypress&quot; and Monet&#39;s &quot;Waterlily&quot; are near, and each one is full of vitality. The armor and weapons exhibition hall is like entering the world of medieval knights, those finely carved armor seems to still tell the story of the battlefield. Even after a whole day of shopping, I feel that there is not enough time. Every time I enter a hall, I can find new surprises and I am reluctant to leave.
