Join Lee Craigie at Lang Toun Cycles in Kirkcaldy on 11th December 2023 for an inspiring event titled "Other Ways To Win". Lee Craigie, a renowned bike racer from Scotland, will share her captivating life experiences and adventures. In her new book, also titled "Other Ways To Win", Lee delves into her journey of discovering the freedom of cycling during her school days, followed by her rise to becoming a national mountain bike champion. She goes on to recount her post-racing life, filled with cycling adventures across the globe, and her work with the Adventure Syndicate, where she empowers and encourages other women. This event is an opportunity to explore the transformative power of the outdoors, as Lee reminds us that there are multiple paths to success, not just in cycling, but in life as well. The event offers two distinctive parts. Firstly, a leisurely social group ride with Lee around Kirkcaldy will take place from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. If you wish to borrow a bike and/or helmet for this part of the event, please contact us via email at social@greenerkirkcaldy.org.uk or by calling 01592 858 458. Participants should be comfortable cycling for 1.5 to 2 hours at a relaxed pace. The second part of the event is a talk by Lee, starting at 6:30pm. Before the talk, light snacks and refreshments, including teas and coffees, will be available. Lee's talk will commence at 7pm. Admission to the event is free, but it is necessary to book your spot. You also have the option to purchase a ticket with a donation, which helps support our community initiatives. You can choose to attend the cycle ride only, the talk only, or both. If you encounter any difficulties during the booking process, please reach out to us at 01592 858458 or email info@greenerkirkcaldy.org.uk for assistance. If you have any questions regarding the accessibility of the ride for adapted bikes, please contact us for further information. E-bikes are welcomed on the cycle ride. Additionally, we can accommodate any dietary requirements you may have, so please inform us via the booking form. Lang Toun Cycles offers parking bays on the High Street, with level access to the building and a disabled toilet available. Don't miss this incredible opportunity to hear Lee Craigie's remarkable story and gain insights into alternative paths to success and fulfillment. Secure your place now for an event that promises inspiration and empowerment.
