Get ready for a captivating opening performance of "Gêneres" (Genders) by The Center for the Theater of the Oppressed (CTO), in collaboration with the University of Texas. This Forum Theater production, rooted in Feminist Aesthetics, endeavors to dissolve the boundaries between the stage and the audience, forging collaborative bridges between both artists and spectators through scenic dialogue. The creative process draws inspiration from the personal experiences of the artists involved, as well as in-depth research into social contexts.

This powerful work delves into a series of conflicts faced by protagonists who courageously defy the binary structure of a hetero-patriarchal system that limits their existence. The oppressed find themselves without the necessary tools to overcome the oppression to which they are subjected. Following the performance, the audience is encouraged to reflect upon what they have witnessed and collectively imagine strategies to address the issues portrayed.

During the subsequent stage, select groups are invited to spontaneously present their proposals on stage alongside the cast, fostering an interactive and participatory experience. The play will be performed in Portuguese with English translation, and discussions will be conducted in English.

The Center for the Theater of the Oppressed serves as a vital research and dissemination hub, committed to refining and advancing the Theater of the Oppressed methodology through laboratories and dramaturgy seminars. This ongoing process involves the revision, experimentation, analysis, and systematization of exercises, games, and theatrical techniques.

As an ordinary tourist, I thought the procedure to enter the Capitol Building was very complicated, but I didn&#39;t expect that I could enter and visit just by checking the bags I brought with me.
This building was built in 1885 and covers an area of ​​51 acres. It was designed by architect Elijah E Myer in imitation of the Capitol Building in Washington. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 and was named a National Historic Landmark in 1986.
It is amazing that the passage of time has not affected its appearance and internal structure at all. It is as new as ever. Visitors can visit the government offices and have time to visit the exterior of the building to appreciate this century-old building from all angles.
