Learning how to make your own paints can be very rewarding and cost effective. Most commercial paints from an art store dilute their products with added fillers which can jeopardize the vibrancy of its color and compromise the paint's integrity, all while you are being overcharged for a product. Though it is initially a bit of an investment, paint making a great way to build a more intimate connection with the materials you use regularly as an artist. It also gives you more agency over the characteristics of your paint, all while saving you money in the long run.
