The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Class is an eight-hour course designed to provide participants with the fundamental knowledge, skills, and attitude needed to safely handle and store firearms. This comprehensive course covers a range of topics, including gun safety rules, ammunition selection, pistol storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, shooting positions, and shooting range safety. Under the guidance of an NRA Certified Instructor, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a course completion certificate.

To attend the class, participants are required to bring a functioning handgun, 150 rounds of ammunition, and eye and ear protection. However, firearm rental and ammunition are available for an additional fee. The cost of the class is $149.00 per person.
