Stevens Park - Wollescote is pleased to offer a volunteer-led Nordic Walking event that promotes strength, mobility, and overall well-being. This free, one-hour activity incorporates gentle exercises alongside the Nordic walking technique, which utilizes walking poles to provide a comprehensive full-body workout. By strengthening the immune system and key joints like the back and knees, Nordic walking contributes to improved physical fitness. Moreover, this activity fosters mental well-being as participants engage in conversation and develop friendships with fellow walkers. Regardless of fitness level, everyone is welcome to attend, as adjustable Nordic poles are provided. Each session will consist of a one-hour walk interspersed with simple exercises to enhance strength and mobility. We recommend wearing sturdy walking shoes (not boots) and meeting at the Sensory Garden area, located just off the main car park. Prior to joining a Nordic Walking session, it is essential to review the PAR-Q document below, as it helps identify any potential medical concerns. While physical activity typically does not pose a problem for most individuals, the PAR-Q ensures that those who may require medical advice receive appropriate assistance.
