The NICA Approved First Aid course offers comprehensive training in CPR and First Aid for coaches at Levels 1, 2, and 3. This one-day, 8-hour course is specifically designed to equip individuals coaching for a NICA Mountain Bike Team with the knowledge to handle both common and serious medical issues. By focusing on recognition, this certification ensures that coaches are prepared to handle any situation that may arise. The course satisfies the First Aid and CPR requirements for all license levels for NICA coaches. It is important to note that this course has no online component and all teaching is conducted in person. Participants should come prepared with appropriate clothing for the season and location of the course, as a significant portion of the class will be held outdoors. Additionally, it is recommended to bring a notebook and pen/pencil, raingear, layers of clothing for splinting and wound management, a backpack, reusable water bottles, and closed-toe shoes/sneakers. Participants are responsible for bringing their own sack lunch, drinks, and snacks, as lunch will not be provided.
