The City of Stirling and WA Comedy are providing a launching pad for WA’s best new comedian. Next Gen Comedy is a competition based on audience vote, meaning we’re leaving it up to the people to decide which WA comedians’ career is going to the next level. “Winning Next Gen was a surreal experience. Being so new to the Perth comedy scene, it amazes me how friendly and supportive the whole scene is here. Winning this has made me feel like I’ve established myself as an act here in Perth, and I can’t wait to see what doors it’ll open for me.” – Ian Burke (2024 winner) WHERE AND WHEN? The Grand Final will be held at Stirling Leisure Centres – Hamersley on Saturday June 28 at 7pm.  Grand Final Contestants: TBC Our special Outdoor Pop-up bar and food vendors will kick things off from 6pm. 18 + only THE PRIZE? · $1500 inc GST Prize money on behalf of the City of Stirling to help you with your comedy career and professional development. Plus $500 inc for 2nd and $250 inc for Third place. · A $150 inc GST 5-minute showcase spot at a future WA Comedy All-Stars show alongside Western Australia’s finest Stand-up Comedians. · Promotional photography and written comedy bio. · Mentoring by WA Comedy WHAT MAKES NEXT GEN COMEDY UNIQUE? It’s based on audience voting and not by industry judges. All Next Gen participants receive a $50 inc GST performance fee for heats and Grand Final (if they are selected). Similar events do not pay participants a performance fee.

This is a great historical location. Of course I am into the ruins and all that entails, but regardless fun! Kissing the stone does require you to hang update down over the castle wall but it iscompletely safe. The grounda are beautiful andpeaceful. We came on a rainy day so crowds may have been smaller due to that. Be sure to plan for a few hours to see as much as possible. Easily 4 or more.
