Brighton and Hove Events in December, 2023

Join the NEH Portrait Club at the New England House Open Studios in Brighton and Hove on December 9, 2023. This unique event offers a special version of their weekly session, where different sitters are invited to come and pose throughout the day. Visitors are welcome to drop in for as long as they like and have the opportunity to sit for a 10-minute portrait in the studio. This is a great chance to practice drawing a wide range of faces and meet new people in a friendly environment.

To participate in the session, bring your own materials, although some basic kit is available as a backup if needed. When arriving at the New England House, approach from the New England Street side of the building and locate the locked blue double doors next to the sign for the 'Building Manager's Office'. Detailed instructions for navigating the building can be found at the door. The studio, number 1 on level 5, South, is where the portrait club takes place.

The sessions are free to attend and are supported by the Draw Brighton Patreon. Consider becoming a Draw Patreon supporter for £3.60 a month to help sustain these sessions. Supporters gain access to online drawing classes and discounts for regular life drawing sessions in Brighton. For everyone's wellbeing, please refrain from attending the drawing session if you are ill with contagious symptoms. Additionally, if you have any accessibility needs, inform the organizers in advance so they can accommodate you. The venue is wheelchair accessible, with lifts available to reach level 5. The studio maintains a safe environment through monitored ventilation, air purification with HEPA filters, and sick pay for their freelance life models. Had my first date here with my partner and we hadthe best time. An amazing aquarium with abeautiful atmosphere, lights and gorgeouscreatures! I love animals and fish and seeing themhere was wonderful. Staff were lovely and veryknowledgeable. The place was clean, easy tonavigate and extremely ambient and beautiful. We went on a Thursday afternoon so was pretty quiet!

One of the best piers in the South of England. There is lots to do with tons of seaside rides, fun arcade games and food. Highly recommend catching the sunset here and if you&rsquo;re lucky you might catch the starlings dancing at dusk, I didn&rsquo;t know they do this and it was the most spectacular striking and stunning natural phenomenon I had seen, it was mesmerising. Highest chances of seeing the starlings dance is between November-March, we visited in early March
