The MYWAY Grizzly Grappler tournament, hosted by the Ruffin Trained Wrestling Club, will be taking place on December 3, 2023, at Ypsilanti Community High School in Ypsilanti, MI. This highly anticipated event will feature two sessions of wrestling, with the first session starting at 10:00 AM and dedicated to novice wrestlers, and the second session, open to all wrestlers, scheduled to begin no earlier than 1 PM. Wrestlers must declare their weight class during the registration process, and weigh-ins will be conducted according to the East Follows No Weigh-In Procedure. To participate, all wrestlers must be pre-registered on or before Thursday evening at 10:00 PM prior to the tournament. Registration can be completed online through the SportEngine account of the club directors or individual members. Please note that all wrestlers must be a member of MEMWAY in order to compete in any MYWAY-sanctioned event. The tournament will be awarding custom medals to the top four wrestlers in each weight class, and the Novice division is limited to the first 200 wrestlers. The entry fee for this exciting event is $15, which can be paid online during the registration process. Admission for spectators is $6 for adults and $3 for children. The age groups for wrestlers will be determined by their year of birth, with proof of age required if challenged within the first two rounds of competition. The modified high school rules will apply, and a birth certificate will be the only accepted form of age validation. Coaches must be registered and approved to coach through MEMBERSHIPWAYWRESTLING.COM. The weight classes for the different age groups are listed on the event website.
