Move, Dance, Improvise. [Southampton] is a captivating workshop designed for individuals who have a passion for movement and a desire to explore their physical abilities. This workshop welcomes participants with or without any previous dance experience. It offers a unique opportunity to engage in a verbal and open dance, where participants will have the chance to experiment with exciting moves and sequences. The aim is to enhance their confidence in improvisation by providing a solid foundation from which they can explore their personal interests. The workshop is divided into three sections. The first section involves a holistic and playful warm-up, fostering a sense of connection among participants. The second section focuses on learning a series of dynamic movements and sequences, carefully broken down to cater to all levels of expertise. Building upon this foundation, the workshop culminates in a guided improvisation journey, enriched with verbal and visual cues, resulting in an immersive and distinctive dancing experience. As a starting point for a fun and creative dance, the provision of moves and sequences allows participants to expand their repertoire. The workshop will be held at the esteemed D M Dance Centre in Southampton on February 25, 2024. Tickets range in price from £32.50 to £39.
