The Midlands Triathlon Academy is offering a unique opportunity to ride on the Leicester Cycle Circuit on the 13th of March, 2024. This safe and controlled environment is perfect for cyclists who want to train during the winter months, away from traffic and dirty roads. The 90-minute group riding session takes place on a purpose-built, floodlit 1km closed road circuit. Riders will be grouped according to their ability and challenged both technically and physically. This is not a smashfest; instead, coaches will be mindful of athletes' training needs. The aim of these sessions is to better prepare athletes for the upcoming season. The sessions will cover a range of skills, including group riding, cornering, and race scenarios. Additionally, athletes will have the opportunity to have some fun along the way. These sessions are open to Midlands Academy, affiliate, and development squad athletes, as well as Midlands Triathlon series athletes. Non-Midlands Academy Athletes will need to complete a consent form. Please note that a clean road bike in good working order, a helmet, gloves, spare tubes, and appropriate clothing are required for the session. Make sure to bring enough food, drink, and extra clothing for the unpredictable English weather. The event will be held at Leicester Cycle Circuit, located in the North Car Park of the Leicester Learning and Sports Village on St Oswalds Road.
