About the host(s)Dr Katharina Vones(Senior Tutor ResearchJewellery & Metal MA,School of Arts & Humanities) Dr Katharina Vones is Senior Tutor in Jewellery and Metal at the Royal College of Art. Trained at the University of St.Andrews (2001), the Edinburgh College of Art (2006), the Royal College of Art (2010) and the University of Dundee (2017), her current research focuses on sustainable craft practice and how this can be incorporated into digital materiality through process experimentation. Her jewellery practice explores how digital jewellery that possesses biomimetic characteristics can be brought to life through the use of reactive and living materials. She is also interested in the way in which the arrival of digital making methodologies has influenced artisanal maker cultures in the global South and created hybrid communities of making. Katharina has exhibited her work widely both nationally and internationally at galleries, trade fairs and conferences and has won numerous awards for her practice, including being shortlisted for a prestigious Arts Foundation Fellowship in 2015. She actively blogs about her practice as a way to encourage craft practitioners to participate in open and sustainable communities of making at www.smart-jewellery.com. Other events at the RCAWe are continually adding to our diverse programme of events: conversations on key topics such as funding advice and portfolio development, symposia, exhibitions, open days and more. We came here on a spontaneous visit one Sunday afternoon in January and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our wee boy loved seeing the &ldquo;old fashioned house&rdquo; and was so well looked after by all the staff, from the cash register to the flat and back out again.

We went round twice (with a shift change between visits!) and the insight into one story of no doubt thousands like it in Glasgow was fantastic. Plus our boy thoroughly enjoyed colouring in his wallie dug. A hidden gem that is well worth the wander through Garnethill.

It is a dream castle. When I arrived, it was the April holiday, there were almost no people on the road, only the old buildings stood in the cold air, solemn and heavy, which was awe-inspiring.

It is said to date back to the famous William Conquest period, built in memory of San Diego, built over hundreds of years, and has been nearly a thousand years. It is the oldest religious building in the whole of Scotland. It is also a must-see for tourism.

The Kevin Grove Museum of Art, located opposite the main campus of the University of Glasgow, adopts Spanish Baroque. The style of the Victorian red sandstone building is its distinctive feature. The museum contains world-class art works such as Salvador Dali&#39;s representative work &quot;Christ of John the Cross&quot;.

George Square

George Square is located in Glasgow city center and is very conveniently accessible by train or subway. On nice days, you can sunbathe and watch pigeons in the square. It is close to the famous shopping street, where you can buy souvenirs, clothes, shoes and socks. There are also many restaurants and eateries to choose from. 
George Square is a must-see attraction. In addition to admiring the architecture of the square;during different festivals, such as Christmas, the square is built into a Christmas Market, becoming a dynamic and happy atmosphere.
