Looking to earn your Lifeguard Certification?
At Five Points Washington, we value pool safety above all else. No one wants their child to be hurt in the water. That's why we teach you how to enforce proper safety measures and prevent others from drowning through our American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Courses.
The class will be limited to 10 participants plus an instructor.
Classes will most likely end before the posted times each day, but per the Red Cross we must post the maximum suggested run times. The instructor will keep the participants up to date on times.
Prerequisites:
Participants must be at least 15 years of age
Successfully complete a 150-yard continuous swim using front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both
Successfully tread water for 2 minutes using legs only
complete another 50 yard swim swim using front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both
Successfully swim 20 yards, retrieve a 10 lb object from a depth of 7-10 ft using a surface dive, then return to starting point swimming with both hands on the object and keeping face at or near the surface of the water
Failure to complete the prerequisites will result in removal from the course. Participants may practice prerequisites at Five Points at a pre-arranged time.
No shows or late cancellations to any class date will void any refund as other participants could have participated in your slot.
Class Format/Requirements:
Our initial certification course is a blended learning course. Participants will meet on the first day of class to perform the prerequisite swim tests, receive their materials for the course, and begin their introduction into the course. They will have the time between that date and the next scheduled class date to complete the online learning portion of the course. The last 2 days of class are in-person training and will conclude the course.
Participants must be in attendance for the entire length of the in-person course and complete the entire online learning portion prior to concluding the course. In order to pass the course, participants must successfully demonstrate all land scenarios and in-water skills and complete a multiple-choice test with a score of 80% or higher.

Came here on September 22, 2017.

I heard that the White House has not been open to the public since 9/11. When we went there, we could only watch it from a distance outside the fence, so the White House became a boring landmark. We took a tourist check-in photo to end our visit.

There is a big pine tree on the south side of the White House. I didn&rsquo;t expect it to be a &quot;landmark&quot; as well, the &quot;National Christmas Tree&quot;... Well, it seems that we should choose to visit during Christmas.

It is free to make an appointment to visit the Congress Hall, but the number of visitors per day is limited. It is best to make an appointment in advance. We went at 9:30 in the morning. They will give you a white strip to stick on your clothes (see the white one on my mother&#39;s chest in Figure 1, and the green one is from the Library of Congress). There is only one time period with Mandarin explanation. I thought it was a Chinese, but it turned out to be a foreign girl. I was quite surprised. I thought she could speak Chinese, but it turned out that she spoke English and translated it into Mandarin for us using translation software! Can&#39;t they find a Chinese American to serve? But what should I do? The girl was very friendly and took a photo with us!

The Capitol is a must-visit stop in Washington. The entire building is also very magnificent and distinctive. It is a pearl-white marble building. The three-story flat-top building has a three-story dome in the center. The sculpture on the top of the Capitol is the goddess of freedom.

The Library of the Capitol is also suitable for checking in together. Most museums in Washington are open to the public for free.

Washington DC monument is one of the landmark buildings in Washington DC... It was built to commemorate the first president of the United States, George Washington. This stone monument was once the tallest building in the world... Today, it is still the tallest stone obelisk in the world...

National Mall

Came here on September 21, 2017.

Between Capitol Hill and the Washington Monument, there is a long and narrow green space, which is the National Mall of the United States. There are many national museums and memorials around the square. Each venue is very interesting and you can spend half a day visiting a single place.

If you don&#39;t have enough time, it&#39;s also good to take pictures. These buildings have different shapes, and taking pictures and checking in are very photogenic.
