In this workshop you will be introduced to the textile art of wet wool felting, its history and applications. You will create 3D vessels with merino wool rovings. These vessels will be reminiscent of birds nests that are sculptural and textural. The skills taught will set you up to continue your felting journey at home. About the facilitator - Anne Griffiths is an artist and educator working in textiles and watercolours. Her work is reflective of nature and its cyclic processes. Anne creates felted vessels, nests and cocoons using wool felting and adding found objects that connect with the environment. Things you need to know suitable participants with some experience in textile arts but not essential, 18 years and older.We provide the basic materials but please bring along a towel, bubble wrap (approximately 50 to 60cm square), found objects such as feathers, dried leaves, small bones or twigs that can be added to your vessel, needle and thread (any colour) for attaching feathers. Also 2 or 3 plastic bags will be handy.Cancellations after 9am Wednesday 27 November will not be reimbursed.
