The annual Lurgan Park Fun Run for Southern Area Hospice, now in its 10th year, is a highly anticipated event that draws in participants from all walks of life, whether they are experienced runners, beginners, or walkers. This event offers both 5k and 10k distances, allowing participants to challenge themselves based on their own fitness levels. Since its launch in 2014, this event has successfully raised an impressive £67,000 in support of the Southern Area Hospice. The Southern Area Hospice provides invaluable services to individuals and families affected by terminal illnesses across the entire Southern Health Board area, including Lurgan, Newry & Mourne, Craigavon, Banbridge, Portadown, Armagh, and Dungannon. With an ambitious annual fundraising target of over £3 million, the Southern Area Hospice Society needs to raise over £250 every single hour to continue providing their essential services to those in need. This year's Lurgan Park Fun Run will take place on March 3, 2024, in the beautiful surroundings of Lurgan Park. The entry fee for adults is £20, while under 16s can participate for just £10. In return, each participant will receive a running number, a bespoke medal, a special gift, and a goody bag. Sponsor cards are also available for those who wish to further support the Hospice.
