Es ist uns gelungen, den international gefeierten Modedesigner Dawid Tomaszewski für eine persönliche Führung durch seine Ausstellung „Excess in Elegance : A Decade and a Half  im Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin zu gewinnen! Anlässlich der umfassenden Schenkung des polnisch-deutschen Modedesigners zeigt das Kunstgewerbemuseum Entwürfe des Designers aus den letzten 15 Jahren. Der in Berlin ansässige Designer gründete nach Stationen bei Sonia Rykiel in Paris und Comme des Garçons in Tokio 2009 sein eigenes Label. Von Beginn an bewegte er sich mit seinen Kreationen an der Schnittstelle zwischen Couture und Kommerz. Während er für den Laufsteg aufwendig gearbeitete Couturestücke designt, bedient er mit seinen Kollektionen für QVC ein breites Publikum. Diese Zweigleisigkeit ermöglicht es ihm, seiner Fantasie in den Couture-Entwürfen freien Lauf zu lassen. Ergebnisse davon sind mit Kristallen bestickte Kleider und Hosenanzüge, ausgefallen drapierte Abendkleider und außergewöhnliche Materialmixe. Die Ausstellung nähert sich anhand der Kollektionen, Entwürfen, Accessoires, Zeichnungen und Fotografien dem Menschen und Modedesigner Dawid Tomaszewski und zeigt dabei eine Designgeschichte made in Berlin. Freut Euch auf eine besondere Begegnung mit Dawid, der auf faszinierende Weise Mode mit Kunst, Architektur und modernem Design verbindet.
