This two hour session you will cover using and designing punch cards. You’ll have the opportunity to test out any punch card designs before creating your own punch card to take home.
It will be delivered by Amy Chen, a textile designer-maker and educator (www.achentextiles.com/).
Amy Chen is a textile designer-maker and educator. Her work encompasses textiles and technology in different ways, from her work in e-textiles (interactive textiles that incorporate electronics) to knitting with a hacked vintage knitting machine.
Small teaching group (Maximum 4 people per session).
This class is suitable for knitters who knit the basics of machine knit, such as the contents covered in the Beginner Machine Knitting class.
Yarns and one blank punch card will be provided. You will learn:
How to use punch cards
How to create a repeat pattern punch card
Design principles to create successful Tuck and Fairisle patterns
