Join us for the highly anticipated debut of The Comedy Lodge, Celbridge's first stand-up comedy night, taking place in The Abbey Lodge on 26th October. The night will be filled with laughter as top and up and coming comedians take the stage. Our first night will feature the amazing Kevin Gildea, with support from Sinead Walsh, Bláithín de Burca, Darragh Bourke, Shane Duffy, and our resident MC Stephen Robert-Walters. Kevin Gildea has gigged all over Britain and Ireland and the rest of the known world – from Singapore to Sligo. He's headlined gigs in Johannesburg and Cape Town and regularly plays all the major comedy festivals in Ireland – The Electric Picnic, ATN, The Paddy Power Comedy Festival in the Iveagh Gardens, The Galway Comedy Festival, Kilkenomics and etc. He is a regular at The Edinburgh Comedy Festival. Sinéad is currently touring their debut hour show, Big Foot. They are fresh from a very successful run at Vancouver Fringe Festival. Big Foot has also appeared at Glasgow International Comedy Festival, Brighton Fringe, Camden Fringe Festival, sold out Insecure et Dangereux (Brussels), and sold out a double-header at Little Whelan’s in Dublin in 2023. Sinéad has also recently appeared at the Paddy Power Comedy Festival (Dublin) and Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Sinéad has opened for Deirdre O’Kane, Neil Delamere, David O’Doherty and Ross Browne, and appeared on RTÉ’s Clear History. “Their punk-rock stage presence is the bedrock from which they set sail.” – Coco Comedy Club Bláithín De Burca - A regular headliner and MC on iconic Dublin stages and festivals and beyond, Bláithín de Burca has a uniquely wry humour and sassy style that leaves you wondering if she wants to fight or flirt... it's often both. Bláithín is a member of Hysteria Comedy Collective at Sin É, and a regular TRYer on the award-winning TRY channel, and she recently graced our TV screens as presenter of the critically-acclaimed RTÉ documentary The Irish For Sex. It doesn't stop there; she hosted a star-studded line up on the Sunday of the Paddy Power Comedy Festival this year, and debuted her solo show Sauvignon Bláithín on September 29th Upstairs at Whelan's to a fantastic reception. Keep up with Bláithín's antics online @beingbla or linktr.ee/beingbla Edwin Sammon's unpredictable and immensely likeable style saw audiences award him the Tedfest Golden Toilet Duck in 2011 for best comedian. On TV screens he took over the news desk co-presenting and writing on Republic Of Telly and currently can be seen as Fr. Gabriel in the IFTA award-winning Bridget and Eamon which is now in its fourth series. The Offaly native has supported Jason Byrne, Fred Cooke and Ardal O'Hanlon on their nationwide tours and performed at every major festival and club in the country. In 2013 Edwin was part of the sold out, nationwide Lads Of Comedy tour. He debuted his first solo special - Edwin Sammon vs Cancer - last year which chronicled his battle with the disease in a heartfelt and honestly funny manner. “Sharply written...brilliantly performed” - Totally Dublin “Edwin Sammon was the find of the night...delivering perfectly described imagery which should offer something for everyone” - Chortle.co.uk Darragh Bourke is a stand up comedian from Dublin known for short jokes and being extremely awkward both on and off stage Shane Duffy has quickly made a name for himself on the Irish comedy scene with his unique blend of honest, irreverent humor. Drawing from tough times, he skillfully weaves personal anecdotes into his sets, tackling challenging subjects with both candor and wit. His ability to connect with audiences through relatable experiences sets him apart, making his performances both entertaining and thought-provoking. With a style that resonates deeply, he’s definitely one to watch in the coming years. Stephen Robert-Walters is one of the longest names in Irish comedy. A voice actor by day, a comedian by night, Stephen will do anything in his power to avoid an honest day's work. Stephen has shared the stage with comedy heavyweights such as Sharon Mannion, Ardal O'Hanlon, Emma Doran and the legendary Mark Thomas. Don’t miss out on this inaugural night.
