Atrika Dance Company will be presenting their in-house contemporary platform, KEEN6M (pronounced as Keenam in Malay), at the Stamford Arts Centre in Singapore. The event, titled "Everything after the fifth," is scheduled to take place on December 22, 2023. As a part of their performance, Atrika Dance Company will explore the Contemporary Asian voice, offering a unique perspective on the year 2023 and what it means to be a Contemporary and/or an Asian identifying dance artiste. The subtitle of KEEN6M, "Everything after the fifth," signifies the significance of the fifth element in the Malay dance syllabi of Singapore, as well as the five foundational feet positions in ballet and western-based contemporary dance practices. This subtitle aims to inspire dancers to discover new ways of approaching their own voice and Asian practices, while also honoring their cultures and traditions. KEEN6M hopes to encourage the youth of Atrika to stay relevant and receptive to progress, while maintaining the integrity of their heritage. The event will be held at the Stamford Arts Centre, located at Waterloo Street #155, Singapore, 187962. Tickets for this performance are priced at $27.29.
