Master storyteller John Engell's Party on the Point is a literary collection of short stories set in the piedmont region of the Carolinas. In the words of award-winning author Mathieu Cailler, these thirteen poignant tales  illuminate connection, heart, and the idea that being a human is no easy task. Written with grace and emotion, John Engell's stories recall such past masters as Alice Adams and Flannery O'Connor.  John Engell's first book of fiction, a short story collection, was published in September 2024 by Short Story America Press. His work has bee featured in The Chattahoochee Review, American Fiction, The South Carolina Review, The Carolina Quarterly, and South Dakota Review.
