Event Description Storytelling is at the heart of how we make sense of the world and how we experience it, how we share ideas, and how we connect with each other. This workshop is an open space to explore the stories we carry - the ones we’ve been told, those we remember, and those we tell. Through playful exercises and shared moments, we’ll look at how stories shape our narratives and help us communicate even the most complex ideas. There’s no pressure to be a “good” storyteller as this is about rediscovering the natural flow of story in our everyday lives. You’ll have the chance to listen, share, and maybe even surprise yourself with the stories waiting to be told. No experience needed, just curiosity! About the host Rowan Salim is a learning activist who researches and pilots liberating ways of learning which honour our connection to ourselves, to our communities, and to the land. She is a storyteller, interested in particular in the power of oral storytelling traditions; a founder and facilitator at Free We Grow, a self directed learning community which operates on sociocratic principles and where she found her passion for whittling and working with wood; and helps run Putney Community Gardens, converting urban spaces into gardens where she’s learning to grow food, forage, make crafts and how communities are forged out of diversity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgI4ej9P7lM Why This Workshop Matters: Storytelling is not just entertainment, it’s a tool for wellbeing.
