Join experienced printmaker, Annabel Hill from Appledore Print Studios, on this fantastic introduction to etching inspired by seed heads, dried plants and organic forms to create beautiful botanical prints. Firstly we will ‘draw’ using plant stems or feathers dipped in ink, and mark-making using seed heads and stems. Drawing this way is very freeing for those unsure of drawing, or complete beginners or those who think they can’t draw.
We will then use this image to create our etching plate from which we'll print. You will learn how to prepare your etching plate and using an intaglio printmaking process to create lines/areas that become incised using acid to 'hold' the ink.
You will come away with a handful of lovely A4 etchings and ink drawings. All materials provided and open to all abilities, including beginners
