This hands-on event will provide participants with a comprehensive introduction to the Risograph, including its functionality and the process of preparing artwork for printing. Whether you come prepared with your own artwork or create one during the class, you will leave with 20 copies of your masterpiece, along with additional print samples. By the end of this workshop, you will have gained the necessary skills to incorporate Risography into your artistic practice. The event will be led by experienced instructors Corey Bechelli, a comic artist and zine creator, and Marcy Gooberman, a graphic designer and illustrator. Current members of the Soapbox can attend for $40, while non-members can join for $45. Additionally, a materials fee of $10 will cover the cost of masters, ink, paper, and equipment maintenance. Please note that the workshop encourages masking but does not require it. If you prefer to wear a mask during the class, the option is available upon request. Philadelphia was once the capital of the United States, so there is plenty of history, museums, monuments, and sites around the city. The Philadelphia Museum of Art boasts a nice array of exhibits. I visited on a Friday evening after work because museum admission is free Friday evenings (pay what you wish). I did pay for parking at their garage, which was only $5.
