The Walters Art Museum invites adult and college groups to embark on an enriching and immersive experience through their in-person tours. With a collection that showcases the finest works of art, the museum offers docent-led or self-guided tours in the galleries. To secure a date for your group, kindly complete the registration form provided. It is noteworthy that these tours are completely free, although a voluntary contribution of $7 per participant would greatly support our educational programs that aim to benefit the community. Docent-led tours are available on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and last for 60 minutes. For weekends or self-guided exploration, please let us know your request. We kindly ask that a minimum of 5 participants be included in your reservation. Once you have submitted your tour request form, a Walters staff member will reach out to you within five business days to confirm the details. In addition to the main collection, the museum also offers themed tours that delve into different aspects of art. "Highlights of the Walters Collection" showcases remarkable pieces from the museum's collection and recent acquisitions. "Across Asia - Face of the Divine" explores the artistic representation of deities and sacred spaces across various Asian cultures. "Across Asia - Hand of the Artist" showcases the intricate craftsmanship and techniques used in creating objects from Asia. Additionally, the museum will be presenting the exhibition "Ethiopia at the Crossroads" starting in December 2023, which will offer a comprehensive look at Ethiopian art in a global context. For those who prefer a more self-paced experience, self-guided tours are also available, allowing visitors to explore the galleries at their leisure.
