She has won awards for her short fiction and novels and has been a presenter at international writers festivals. Chenèe Marrapodi, a children's author and journalist based in Perth, will be hosting the event. Her middle-grade novel, One Wrong Turn, was published by Fremantle Press. Chenèe is also an experienced MC and the host of the Writers off the Page podcast. There are no prisoners in Fremantle Prison in Western Australia, and it has been preserved for tourists to visit.
Today, the prison still retains its original intact appearance. A guided tour will take you from the outside to the outside, including the interior of the prison, kitchen, toilets, public bathrooms, chapel, dark solitary cell, and narrow and terrifying prison cell. There are also introductions to the torture instruments of the time, recreating the life behind bars at that time.
The admission fee includes a guided tour, which is only available in English and takes about an hour.
