Directed by Wang Chaoge and Fan Yue, with Zhang Yimou as the artistic consultant, “Impression Wulong” is an amazing performance featuring more than 100 actors. Using the disappearing traditional Plains & Rivers musical form for the majority of the show, the 70-minute long performance gives audiences the chance to experience Chongqing's beautiful natural landscape and unique customs. The theater in which “Impression Wulong” is performed is the Taoyuan Grand Canyon, about 9 kilometers from Xianüshan Town.

The host, the old tracker, kept shouting &quot;(The small wooden boat) is gone&quot;, &quot;(The trackers) are useless&quot;, &quot;Forget us&quot;, &quot;Forget it&quot;! The lamentations echoed in the night sky, which made people depressed. The withdrawal of trackers from the stage of history and shipping is a manifestation of historical progress. What is sad about it? It is right to protect and inherit their cultural spirit. For example, the &quot;Chuanjiang Haozi&quot; in the program has become a national intangible cultural heritage protection project, which can be sung and performed for future generations to appreciate. &quot;Impression of Wulong&quot; is also doing this work overall. So I feel that the director failed to accurately grasp the historical and cultural significance of the trackers. Finally, it is specially suggested that the new atmosphere after the motor boats and hydropower entered the countryside can be shown at the end of the play to reflect the modern life of Wulong and Chongqing.
