ImagiNation: Hong Kong in Exile is an interdisciplinary symposium that will be held in Den Haag, Netherlands, from May 23 to May 24, 2024. This inaugural event is dedicated to the exploration of the artistic and cultural development of the overseas Hong Kong diaspora. With a focus on three main themes - Preserving Identity, Artistic Activism, and Cultural Reshaping - the symposium aims to comprehensively examine the past, present, and future of this community's resilience in the face of ongoing changes. The symposium will bring together scholars, advocates, and artists from around the world to engage in inspiring discussions, interactive workshops, and captivating performances. It will be a unique opportunity to celebrate the Lion Rock spirit of Hong Kong and to hear powerful stories of hope, courage, and determination from its diaspora. With its commitment to universal justice, The Hague, as the home of international courts, serves as the perfect location for this event. The symposium will span two days and will be held at two different venues. The Opening Ceremony and Symposium will take place at Nieuwspoort, located at 67 Bezuidenhoutseweg, 2594 AC Den Haag, Netherlands. The second day of the event, featuring the Symposium and Performance, will be held at De Badkuip, situated in the same building as Billy Town, at Helena van Doeverenplantsoen 3, 2512 ZB Den Haag. Meals and beverages will be provided throughout the symposium, and attendees can choose between purchasing a 2-day Pass or individual tickets for each day. Ticket prices range from €21.79 to €47.79. ImagiNation: Hong Kong in Exile promises to be an unforgettable experience, offering valuable insights into the resilience and future of the displaced people of Hong Kong.
