Discover the exciting new multi-day class, "Identity, Power & Collage," designed exclusively for middle school students who are passionate about art and eager to explore their creative potential. Led by experienced instructor Devin "Speaks" Urioste, this course aims to empower young artists by helping them understand their unique identities and harnessing that knowledge as a source of strength. Students will delve into the art of collage, using it as a powerful tool to express their individuality and take ownership of their artistic voice.

The class will be held at the prestigious Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA) in the vibrant city of Boulder, Colorado. With materials provided, students will meet on three consecutive Tuesdays in the late fall: November 14th, November 28th, and December 5th at BMoCA. Additionally, there will be a special Wednesday workshop exhibition on December 13th from 7-8pm, coinciding with the Studio Project Exhibition held in the BMoCA event space.

Devin "Speaks" Urioste, a Denver native deeply connected to various communities, will guide students through this transformative artistic journey. His work reflects his commitment to represent his community, stay true to his culture, and foster critical thinking. With eight years of experience as an educator and facilitator, Devin values the ideas, thoughts, and emotions of others. His goal is to ignite curiosity and encourage self-reflection in his students, while expanding their knowledge and positive influence within their communities.
